A day around Western Sweden
I started the day by going to Nossebro some 50-60kmnorth of Alingsås...
While there I looked for a geocache...
Later I participated in some trap moving arrangement...
For some badger that was sneaking around at my parents house...
More geocache hunt...
And some semla...(thats mostly commonly eaten between christmas and easter in sweden)...
It was shorts weather today...and dinner outside...
Later on I went for a bike ride...
Around the lake where my parents lives...and passed by my old neighbourhoods...
Over there I can see Alingsås...
And the old tennis court...where I use to play as a kid...
The boats are already in the lake...impressive...
And my old house...
Some extra buidlings were built...
The train station signs looks the same as taiwan...or similar...
Now its a path for cycling but it use to be a train rail...
After some hour I came back to Alingsås...
Then it was time for BBQ...
I was happy that I made it before the sunset...
Erik also joined up...
We burned more than we planned...
And some BBQ, hotdog from Nossebro...
And some other sausage from a local farm...
Summer is approaching...
Summer is getting closer...but still its a normal spring weather...meaning, warm in the day, and cold in the night...desperate people dress in summer clothes, and thus catch a cold later, when the temperature drops...same story every year...
It was very sunny at the central of Gothenburg...
I passed by the area where Chalmers was founded...
And went shoping with an old friend...
We also passed by an asian store...where everything had the price in swedish kronor, but always ".90"...so funny...
".90", ".90"...
I recognized some asian fruit...
We alter on went to eat sausage...
And mustard...
It was nice...
Later I met more people, and had a chicken...
And some cake...its not easy to be on a diet...
Omg, Grebbestad påskmust...thats interesting...
I later visited a friend who had "gant" towels...thats exclusive...
We also had some shrips...
And later on went for beer...some local gothenburg beer...
And some spanish one...
And an idiot one...
"8.5%" alcohol...omg...
An evening in Gothenburg
I went to see an old friend last night...
He lived near where mu uncl eused to live when I was young...
Kungshöjd is a nice place in central Gothenburg...
And recently the weather has been pretty nice in this area...
Omg, a place called "tribe", with an aboriginal symbol similar to the one in Orchid island...
I later on when to see my friend...he treated me coffee...
And some beer...
...and ale...
And Ville was also there...
He knows about beer...
We also had a kebab...
Its 85kr, twice the price as in Frankfurt...for a kebab...
Many people were out on this friday...
I also saw some kids fight...soo exciting...
Some day in Gothenburg
I had some business in Gothenburg...
It was snowing on my way to there...
I had kebab pizza in the night...I need more of those...
And some really good beer...Martens Lager, belgian beer...
I can tell that easter time is approaching...alot of flowers everwhere...
I also went for some cache hunt...
More flowers...
More cache...
Random events in Sweden...
I made s pizza this morning...
With some cheese...
I also repaired some of my old arts in the garden...
And some new ones...
After some geocache hunting, I started to prepare my own cache...
Days go by...
I inspected my moroccan lemons today...
They seemed fine...I need to try the out soon...
I also made 3-4 batches of pizza...
And went for some cache hunt...
One after another...
And found a new favorite...alsmost as cool as the post office cache in taipei...
More Pizza...
The sky turned purple ths night...and it was pretty windy outside...
A day in Alingsås...
I spent the whole day in Alingsås today...
Started off with some porrige...
And later fixed things in the garden..preparing for the summer...
It was a nice day today...
I ended with some tenderloin, it was interesting...
Lousy restaurant...
Its easy to tell if a bar/restaurant is professional...
A fancy restaurant often let the customers do as the please...since they know that the customers are respected and they have confident enought to let the customers act...
Today I was forces to leave my jacket at the wardrobe, and later on pay for it...for no real reason...Heaven 23 in Gothenburg thus doesnt have that mush class...it was 5pm, and I had a small jacket over my t-shirt... :S
I thought they didnt have that need to earn small cash to scare away people who wasnt to have a quick drink...
A visit to Eberths place...
I paid a quick visit to Eberths place some day ago...
I bought different kinds od beer...
And he offered me Göteburgare...inlduing Falukorv...
He also had a new sound system in his kitchen...
The Göteburgare was pretty good...
And so was this beer...
And this...
Strawberries from spain for dessert...
This beer tasted like any other beer...
We ended with a white russian...
And some spirit from Russia...
A visit ot the fair, mossens pizzeria and some geocache hunt...
A reason to visit a fair is the candies...
I use to pick candies all the time, when I was a kid at these fairs...
Some stand had some golfball competition, I won a dinner...
I also went to some seminars...
Omg, the cuban stand was making cigars...
I kept on doing the golf ball competition, it was fun...
I also met Min, he gave me some cinnamon buns...
He also gave me his business card...
And showed me some funny products (or rather the words were funny in swedish)...
Some stands were promoting beer...like Grebbestads öl...
My friend also went all-in on buying meat...
My father is wearing fjällräven...so cool...
After a quick visit at chalmers, I found some intereting waste stations...
I also found some geocache...
And I could see brudaremossens TV antenna in the horizon...so impresive...335 high, and can be seen from Alingsås...
I also passed by mossens pizzeria, but didnt have energy to look up the note I always look up...
Its interesting that newyears day is the most hectic day in the pizza industry...
But they confimed that the kebab pizza is the most popular one...
Yummy...a kebab pizza...
I picked another geocache...
And later went to the nordic outdoor fair...
I ended the day by trying some beer...
And IPA...or similar...
And the second pizza of the day...
A revisit to gothenburg
I spent some time in Gothenburg yesterday...
Made a quick earch for a local geocache, but didnt put much efforts in finding it...
I also passed by systembolaget....
And can observe many east europeans, since bulgaria entered European Union...however, they dont support welfare system, and thus they go to other countries to ask for money...historically western eurpe dont have this culture...so theres alot of complain...(its not easy to have a government without transperrancy)...
I tried many kind of beer...
This one I was recommended..."cream"...sounds interesting...
And a classic IPA...it ws pretty good...
This one taste like any other beer...
But this one was really good...sweet and nice....
I ended the beer session with a coffee and a sandwish ice cream...
Well...one more beer...
...or 2...
Later I paid a visit at Cubas stand in the local toursit fair...they were rolling cigars....pretty cool...
The stand which I supported, was dealing with retro stuff...
However, this tourist fair was very small, I remember some 10 years ago, it was really big...
I went up pretty early this morning...
Meeting up some people, and later on heading to gothenburg...
Free wifi at the gas station...
...and cheap hamburger...
The deistnation was the tourist fair in gothenburg...
We did some design of a stand...I also met some people from Malaysia...it seems pretty nice...
Omg, in the local restaurant they wanted us to wake up...
Just like ikea they are selling things from the local super market in the restaurant...
Hmm...my mom has pics of my nephew and my younger sister in her wallet...I wonder if my sister put the picture there herself...the only among 4 kids whos in...
They were offering homemade bread at the restaurant...I wonder how the transport the bread from their home...
Tuesday night...
I joined some friends to the local bowling place in Alingsås last night...
It was a relatively new place...
I could also conclude that Påskmust also is available at the store...its a typical easter drink in sweden...
I also found a new car at my parents house...it was a temporary car while the other one´s getting repaired...
A visit to gothenburg
I paid a quick visit to gothenburg yesterday afternoon...
I took the train...i will start biking soon...
Still shorts weather in sweden...5 degrees at the west coast...
MY friend Oskar held a speech in gothenburg....
On his birthday...
It was interesting...
We also went for some local beer...
Ocean was made nearby...
I also paid a visit to an old classmate when I studies pedagogics...
Heavy pot cover...to make heat transfer better...so energy frendly...
I also had a kilkenny...before heading back to alingsås...
Some monday morning events...
I found a geocache in Alingsås...
It was full of things...but no trackable...
I also had a semla for lunch...(or breakfast)...
An example of asian inconsitency
"You do it becasue its the rule, dont ask "why"..."
After a burger meal...
The same object that german and chinese customs let me have in my jacket pocket...
When I asked why I could enter the country with it, but not leave with it...they couldnt answer...just an error...
When I asked why people with iron edged walking sticks could pass, they couldnt answer...I felt sorry for them, I shouldnt confuse them with "why", its not a part of thier culture...
Next flight I also enjoyed Hijacking news...
The remote to the TV was broken for a while...catastrophic! However I managed to fix it...I also spent a major part of the ride with my friend Anders, who coincidently also checked-in at the same flight in Beijing...
Some late night in Taipei...
I went to the post office yesterday...
Its not easy to get what u want in taiwanese posts and banks all the time...
To send a box home will cost 200nt more, if i do it in 4-5 days instead of 2-3 weeks...(there are no boats anymore...that sux)...
Last I passed by this beer place...
Its on Zhongshan road in Zhonghe...Kaohsiung made...
The food here taste almost like european chinese food...
This is a classic...kungpao chicken...
And some cheese on chicken...not a classic but good...
They also had some tools to inject alcohol...interesting...
And taiwanese rum...
I tried some of my new batch of beer...its like normal lager but not that much bubbles...
Later in the night, starbucks was visited...
And a geocache in the area...2014 continues...
Geocache hunt in taipei city...
When i have many things to do, I find another solution thatn normal...
...this efficient solution gives me more free time...which was spent on geocache hunt...
And some BK...
Later on went to taipei downtown...
To this place...a restaurant near tipaei 101, with a turhlish cheif...
Many things were ordered...
It was really good...almost like in europe...
Turkish meatballs...same same - but different....
This pizza was "said to be famous"...but it tasted the same as anywhere else...
Later some geocache hunt started again...
One after another...
The trip ended at cold stone..where a peanut butter cup ice cream was ordered...same as always...
I also passed by Neo19...same house that i been toso many timessince 2008...time goes fast...
A quick visit to Hsinchu...
I had a delivery job to Hsinchu today...
"Do not queue beyond this point"...strange...
I pai a quick visit to a hotpot...with a modern stove...
And soy sauce could have been mistaken for some drink...
Near NCTU in Hsinchu I went to some chalmers swedes...
With nice view over the campus...
I later went for some beer and chips...
And med Johnny, who was wearing christian artifacts...
We played some music at the DJ club...
And tried to find a geocache...
I also passed by Sogo...to check up on an old korean restaurant...but it didnt exist anymore...
We went to "The fat olive" instead...
Kai and Anders...I havnt met them for a year...
We had some set menu...many thigs to share...
But not alwyas that sharing friendly...
The pizza was nice...
I went all-in on olive oil...
Anders event poured some in my drink...
Hmm...red bean for dessert...
Both me and Anders gave away our beans to Kai...
Anders had a funny umbrella...
We also passed by his new place in Hsinchu downtown...
"No birds" sign on the bus is always entertaining...2014 continues...
I hate stupid people
Video making and geocache hunt..
I went to a company today to make a promotion video...
I know some swedish people there..
And Anders was there...
He puts his computer on the side when he puts it somewhere...not sure why...
We also had some tea...
It was a great view form the office...
4 million scooters driving only in taipei...screw the environment...as long as people are comfortable, who cares about emissions in this country?
Later I went to the central post office...and found a very cool cache...
It was a key that lead to the post office...
And a certain post box...
Wich many items inside...
Even a Geo coin...
And some trackables...
Also a visit to a russian restaurant was paid...
It was really nice...the food really tasted like home...
Many things that I use to get on exclusive dinners as a child...
And some russian soup...
And dessert...
They also had the famous russian ice cream...but it wasnt included in my set...
Monday events in Taipei
I paid a quick visit to a mall...
Checking out their candy stands...
And ended the day with an all you can eat...they even had cocnut ice cream...
Jiayi marathon and some scenic sights in middle west taiwan
On a journey at the middle west of taiwan...
This place was told to be "Famous"...
Some guy dressed like a chinese doll...
And inthe building they had reconstructed some old street for 500 million taiwan dollar...
It was called "Taiwan Times Village"...
Omg, penghu cake...
People were taking pictures everywhere...
Old Budweiser...must have been before the alcohol monopoly...
And some performance...
Omg, so many people...
An old transtaion...
And super heroes...
And Märklin...thats cool...
Many old objects...
And medicine to get bigger boobs...
And how a hooker house use to look like...
Difference girls with ranking and outfits...
"Do It Youself" machine...
More stores...they better sell alot, to cover for the 500 million NTD...
An old wagon to collect shit...used in China and Taiwan...
And alot of aboriginal stuff...
And local coffee from Nantou...
An ATM machine...so that people can spend more...
And more aboriginal stuff...this one from Orchid Island...
And information about the tribes..
More photo shooting...
After this some geocache hunt started...
At some nice garden...
Next one...the position was not 100% correct...
But found it...
This street reminded me of when I lived in the USA...
Omg, interesting tree...
A bunker...
Where the next chache was found...
Next one was in a park...
Interesting things...but no travel bug...
But strange paintings...
The ride continues...this place had just like Keelung and Hollywood, some sign on the hill with the name of the town...
Wellcome to Taiwan...a nazi logo...with "superior" on it...the political symbol has no meaning...
And in Doului, somce store with gay flag...
Next stop...a local burger bar...
So many different kinds of burgers...
And nice interior design...
We got brownies...as snax while waiting for the burger...
I had their largest one...
They also had meatballs and mashed potatoe...
Next stop...some sugar plant...
Next cache...was magnetic...
It was small and cointained just a list...
After that, near Jiayi...andother cache...
It was hidden in a pipe...
The tour continued south...
To Tainan, and a local beer bar...
5-6 different kinds...
"fest beer" with extra alcohol...like in the october fest...
And Beer Parwn...
And that classic christmas decration...
It was made in Tainan...
I wonder if they had a german owner...
all the 5 kinds of beer...
Sweet and sour sauce...
And beer prawn...
Some malt...
"German Beer Brew inTaiwan"..."Des Beer Restaurant"...
Some cache hunting, bur found drugs...
And also a visit to the tropic of cancer...
The day after I started the day with a marathon in Jiayi...it was ok...we ran around a lake...2 laps...it was surprisingly easy, I havnt ran a marathon since 2012...but could still keep a good phase...maybe my recent mountain climbing events was a good preparation....
Then heading back to taipei...seeing many bikes on road 1...
Not sure why...maybe some group race...more than 500 people...or something...
On the way back, more caches were found...
At some temple...
Interesting gas station on road 3...
I ended the day as cosbys at ximen in Taipei...
And picked a last cache...
A visit to taiwan beer factory and the highest train station in taiwan
I passed by Taiwan beer brewery in Zhunan...it was really not that visitor friendly...and they were selling things far from beer...not sure about the logic here...but if they did more like Kavalin whisky distillery in Yilan, this could be a huge attraction...
Alot of police were guarding the street due to a bike race...
Omg...a swedish looking house,,,
Nice garden in Jhubei...
Later in Zhunan a short visit to Taiwan beer facotry was paid...
Omg, big volumes...
And some information signs...
...about the process...
They seem to have many facilities in Taiwan...but the info was all in chinese...
And the visitor center was pretty crappy...
Some posters of their products..
And old carns...but else..not many signs of a brewery could be found...
Later a lake was spotted near Miaoli...
And some bridge one had to pay to cross...
To an island...
This bridge was free...
The lake is popular on weekends i was told...
Next stop was some strawberry liquor place...
This part of taiwan is famous for the strawberry...
Even strawberry sausage...i think they just dip the sausage in some strawberry jam...
Strawberry beer...local brewed...
And strawberry fields...everywhere...
Some strawberries were pretty big...
This is also the Taizhong entrance of Xuepa national park, where many high mountians can be found...and also many aboriginal lives...
I wanted to go to the entrance...the HQ is here anyway...
Taiyazhu...they also have many hotsprings here...
The next stop was the highest train station in taiwan...but it is closed nowadays...
Not sure why...but its for sure a big tourist attraction...
Many people...
Ans some unnel..
402 meters above sea level...
And cosy restaurants...
Is this the local thing? some meat...
The sculptures were cool...
And the train wheels...
Later some geochache hunt began...
It was a really small one...
The notebook barely fitted...
Wth a magnet...
Later on a spider man doll was passed...prtty cute...
And a famous bridge...
It was build 1905...
And was destroyed 1935...
Due to a nearby 7.3 earthquake..
Later more geocache hunt continued...near this tree with stones hanging from it...
And some beer bar visit in taizhong...
Second time I was here...
And some burger bar...
Noob Burger...
I wanted to have their biggest burger...but they then forced me to buy 4 drinks...strange...
"peace means having a bigger burger than other guy"...
My burger was the second largest they had...
I paid with my 2000NT bill...the locals never seen that bill...so they discussed for a while...
Later some geocache at an earthquake muesum was found...
And a travel bug from Australia, thats been to new zeeland was taken...
A visit to 1885 at nanjing east road
After meeting up with some chalmers students at ikea last night...
...where they bought candies...
...a visit to 1885 burger store was paid...
I had their largest burger...
As usual they fake the french fries cup...they put some paper under, making it look full, even if 75%-80% of it contains air...
Thursday morning...
I went for a power walk this morning...
After a cup of coffee at home...I ended up having another one...at hi-life...
I liked Kaohsiung more...no rain there...
A visit to Butchers Kitchen
I made a visit to Butchers Kitchen last night...
Its near C.K.S Memorial hall in Taipei...
It felst liek it was inpired by some french kitchen...
They even had Kebab...
But the staff was strange...and the prices...they charge 650nt for a burger of the same size as a 360nt burger...its just that the meat is different (both beef)...
The bread felt like it was heated in the micro wave oven before served...
And the soup was good, like Funis championsoppa in sweden...
Some mustard salad...
And a great steak...
It all finished with ice ream...
It was a nice place...cosy and everything...
A morning in Kaohsiung
At 6 I decided to meet up with my old classmate Henry...
Some where near peir2 art park in Kaohsiung...
He took the MRT...
...to get to this breakfast place where they have this intrument to shape the eggs...
Coffee and hamburger...typical taiwanese breakfast...
And some other thing, that they recommended...
Henry is an entrepreneur...
We further on took the MRT north...
This was an intereting character..."凹" "Ao"...i seldome see it...
This is henrys gym...
Later I wanted to cash out money...such a slow guy who was ahead of me...
I also had some sandwish...with 3 kinds of cheese...
Interesting but common sign in taiwan...
On the street they had some directions signs...
I also found a place with my name...I should visit this place some time...
"Kiss and Ride"...thats so typical taiwanese to have this translation...
A 1 day trip to Jiaminghu (Jiaming lake)
I started some year ago to claim that theres no mountainin Taiwan, you cannot do as a 1 day hike...
...you just carry less luggage...
This is the trailmap of jiaming lake trail in Taidong country, on raod 20...that goes between Guanshan and Jiayi...(its broken now, but will open again in august 2014)...the road distansce is 153km, on the road...
From the trail entrance it is about 13km...
06.30:ish i started..
And first I had to pass by a forrest recreation area...these are very common in taiwan...
They had some wodden signs and some new green signs, telling the diestance...
And some climbing club also put up red ribbons..
It was an easy road...
And signs informtion on which mountians one could see...
This is very south...so not all mountains are high...
After some hour, I reached the first cabin, where I met many kids and some old people, who just woke up, ready to head to the second cabin...
Since I chose ot to carry heavy load, I was much faster...
There were many old pathes...sometimes I ofund these arrows, that made it easier not to walk wrong...
The path was now mostly stones...
And not that much trees...
Some times the trail split, but someone marked if the direction was wrong...
And it was sunny...which i guess is common in the mornings...
After some kilometers...the path was on a ridge...pretty easy...
Half way...as long as the trail was on the south side of the ridge it was a walkin the park...
2 hours spent after half distance...thats positive...
On the north pat of the ridge...it was more windy...and some snow...
some times the trail passed by some mountains...but I was only heading for the lake...
Nice view...in the clouds...
...also some times down hill...
I was wearing my 30 second camera...if i disapear...the one who find me, can follow my last minutes alive...(i often hear about mysterious stroes, when people disapear)...
The second cabin...or many cabins...
And a high altitude toilet...
This part of taiwan have the Bunun aboriginals, this rangers name is Wasabi...something...Bununs are famous for their archery...
They also put up many tents...in case many people chose to stay here...
There were 2 rangers living there...they never checked my permit...
Omg...im getting closer...
...once in a while, I stopped to read some information signs...
Omg, clods coming from the north...there parts where there is a slope on the ridge...the wind is pretty strong...
Omg...some deer or other wild animal...I heard they even have bears here...
The path was a little deep, hindering the snow from melting...
Another place where the path splits...
And after a while the fog started...
1 kilometer left...
I was continously eating my M&M´s...its a tradition...when climbing mountains...
300 meters left...
Some where donw there...
And another trail 14.3 kilometers ro another mountain...i think...
just like in Dabajianshan...they had a helicopter area...
There...finally...
10.35, it means it took about 4 hours...it was acctually what i predicted...
The lake could be bigger...on wikipedia it said that it was 6 meters deep and 120meters long...
Selfie 1...
I guess if if rains more...it gets deeper...
I couldnt find any sign with information about the lake...but I heard that some meteorit impact created the lake...
I also heard that some air plan crashed here long time ago...I wonder where...
Here is the the water goes down from the hill...
But theres no place where the water leaves...I assume its not that fresh to drink...
6 meters deep! thats scary...I should have brought a rubber duck...taiwanese people seems to like that...
(Selfie 2)..
The path becomes a creek, when it rains...
Luckily the fogg disapeared when I was at the lake...
So that I could see the south mountains...(probably the southest mountain over 3000 meters high...
Anyway...time to go back...
And then the fog started again...
...some wierd white rocks...
I didnt have a compass, but it would be fun to know, in which direction things were at...
Omg...litter...I read an aticle about that it will be prohibited to smokein national parks...I wonder if any one wil care...
The wind was still strong at the north ridge...
Some people made "less slippery grip" on the roots on the path...
Back to the second cabin...
They asked if more people were coming, and I told them about the kids...walking fromthe first cabin...
Some garbage in the bushes...
And the kids...some were practicing to walk with crampons in the snow...
It was pretty windy here...
And the kids all took a res in the wind...just like 2010 when i went to hehuanshan...I was stunned that people take a rest in the shade, or in the wind...instead of the sun, and where its no wind...i guess its different logic...
And heavy luggage...
Half way...I will make it back before it gets dark...
The first cabin was empty...
And some rangers took the motorbike..maybe they were asked to escort the kids up...
Back at the trail entrance...
It was about 14.30 now (I spent 20-30 minutes at the lake taking pics and walking around)...
And some local workers (from taizhong) having their camp here...
And then heading to taidong...
last night its was foggy, dark and rainy...now this ride back was very enjoyable...
and nice view...
Up here they have many farms...and tea plantage...
Some aboriginal village....
And monkeys in the trees...
They also have many Bunun statues along the road...
And alot of reconstruction...its a very troublesome road...it often breaks during typhoon...
I also heard there are alot of hotsprings in the area...
Omg...a free hotspring...
After walking all morning, I spent 5 minutes talking to an old man from nearby...
And enjoy the free hotspring...it was nice...
More statues on road 20...
After I came to taidong, I decided to head to Kaohsiung...
I had a kiwi juice at a local bar...
And went to a swedish friends house...
And my taiwanese friend who wil move to sweden next week..
I also spent some time in the Peir2 art park...
Same as i often visit her in kaohsiung...this is a transformers look-a-like...
Later on I went to a beer place...
For some sweet and sour sauce dish...
And migle with by friend who sells cider here in Kaohsiung..
The last 2 days at Orchid island
Time passes by fast...
...even on orchid island...its not many things in english here...this is a sichuan noodle...that i got to try at on of the villages with many restaurants...
And beef noodles...
Only one store on the island have fresh milk...
I also passed by a light house...
And walked on a path...
...that was pretty narrow...
...to find...wops..wrong way...
...some strange sand...
...ah...here the second largest lake on orchid island...
This is the chinese name...
My hostel has a terrace on the roof...put ging up there is pretty dangerous...if u fall, its 10 meters down...
But its nice...imagine a BBQ up here...
Many cars without regstration sign..I wonder if any car has a valid sign...I also was told that no one have driver license here...
Many old houses use to look like this...build upon stones...
These old houses even had postal address...
A lady from the hostel hosted and told stories about these houses...
With fire place in side...
And horns from goats and jaws from pigs...
They also had armor...when peopel trhew stones at them...
And the floor was tilting, if the kids peed, it would go off...naturally...
I later made a run to a peak...
The weather was bad...but it was the last day o the island...
No parking it saidm but firther up, I found a parking sign anyway...
Pretty strong wind...and high up...
Just like in tainan, they had a house that was old with trees inside it...
But this was build by the japanese...
Some earthquake station...
And a triaditional rest place,,,
They had arrows on the street, in case some one wonders where to go...
Later I had some rise meal...
Not many tourists here...only the local people...
And sweet and sour fling fish...the season just started in the south part of the island...
A short night visit to the local bar also...it was the only one I could find...
I had a baileys...
They give u alot of side dishes...thats nice...
And crabs...
There is the owner and a dutch girl who was doing some culture report...she stayed here for 2month...
We were treated budweiser by a local....it was nice...
Next day it was cloudy again...up there somethere is the highest peak of orchid island...I tried to go up there...but it was rainy, so I was advised not to...
The breakfast place also had diving activiites...according to new your times orchid island is top 11 diving place in the world...
A taiwanese hamburger...they are common for breakfast...
A traditional suit among the locals...
Many hens and pigs running around on the street...
I wanted to hide a gea cache...so i needed to find a jar...
And some paper...and pen...
Water proof...according to geocaching.com there are nogeo caches on orchid island...yet....
The flight was 13.40...i. think...
Omg...the highest mountain...i will for sure climb that if i return...
Even the airport was shaped as a traditional boat...
I decided to hide the geocache near theairport...
Down here...
i think its protected form storms...and goats...that walk around the island...
omg...here comes some...
These are the koordinates...
Many fligths today...
When i arrived to taidong...i started to prepare my next hike...
It was to Jiaming lake...at the northern part of taidong county...
I also tried to find a place to eat...
But usualy in taidong, things close after lunch...
But i found a nice cafe with cool interior design...like this...
Some crack in the wall, that they made art of...
Its common in taidong...art...i feel like in the south of france when im here...
...absolute vodka bottles...
Cheela, the place seems to be called...
It was just near the bike stroke that I went on last year...it was nice...
And a cosy taoilet...
And some pizza oven...I wonder if they even use this...
The tab was also interesting with a cat that u flip...
And some pulp, that was used for the plants...
I had some ice cream...
The tea spoon was a cinnamon stick...
I also had yoghurt...
Later I went to buy a lamp, in case the hike tomorrow would take long time...
I later on went up north by scooter...to the police station on road 20, near the 153 Km mark...
Some constrution workers from taizhong were also here...
It was a littelc hilly, I think we were up 2500-3000 meters hieght...
They were nice, and treated me some food...
I need carbs, for tomorrow trip...at around 22 I went to bed...
Days go by on orchid island
Yesterday I went for a run around orchid island...it was ok...i started rather late...so I though a about taking a shortcut after 12km, to bad that I went the wrong direction and had to run 27km...
But its good exersice...I plan to run a marathon next weekend.
Its not the main season for tourists right now, not that many lying fish nor cultural activites...
I also planned to climb the highest mountain, but some locals advised me not to since "there are some mysterious things going on up there...", so exciting,..

It seems like they adapted to the big rubber duck even here on orchid island...
They have many stores...but this one is most commonly open, and they ahve fresh milk...
Pretty sunny...on the road that takes you around the island...
And taiwanese coffee...
Omg...no registration plate...
Epic boat...
And a colourful breakfast restaurant...
Seems like the nly one open on this low season...
More boats...
And some milk tea...
Not sure what this is, but as long as its a local speciality, its ok...
I also asked for a burger...this is pretty similar...
Some other tourists...most of them are here for diving...
Omg, harpune...some countries still have courses....I think this sigb, asks not to use them...
This cliff looks like a boat...in the second world was, some american ship were shooting towards this boat for many hours...thinking it was a japanese boat...
Omg...a cave...
Pretty nice...
And some cosy gardens...
And some art store...
He seems interesting...making his own things...
They also have many owls here...why they often have paintings of them...
Some waves...
Ths highest mountain is over 500meters high...impressive...
More boats...
And some graveyard or something...
And more caves...
Ha, they even make the benches look like the boats...
Omg, a car without sign again...
And another one...with a goat in front...
They also had some cool graphics of the aboriginal life and how to live here...
More anonymous cars...
And some boats...
And another art shop...
This is a museum...so I can take some pics...
And later we headed up to one of the lakes that they have on the island...
I better watch my step...the bridge was about to break...
Ops....here it did...
Some students climbing...
Wow...here is the lake..finally...
And a nice view of the ocean...
This is a sign regarding the nuclear waste is out in the ocean or something...
I later on planned to run around the island...or atleast half of it...
I think it was 27km, or 15km - something...I decided to go for the short alternative...
Hmm..wierd...after 10km...i didnt see any trace of comming back...
Some interesing house...
I asked the local where I was...she wasnt sure...but it seems like I went for the long alterntive anyway...
When I came back...I was introduced to the washing machine...it was pretty funny...
And we went for a local resturant...no all you can eat...actually, since it was low season...there are not many places open...
Some rice...and vegetables...
Omg...another car without sign...
Wow...they have pinyin...
When I ran around the island...I found this bar...
So I had to try it...
IT was pretty nice...we even got some flying fish...
And some other snax...its by far the best (and only) on the island...
They dont like nukes here...same as in taidong...they see taidong as the "big city"...thats pretty cool...since taipei people see taidong as a "middle on nowhere" place...
They even hace a couch here...outside the bar...but in high season there are many people around here...
This is the place...the only place on orchid island...
Some more fish...yummy!
Omg, so cute...a girl who was there showed here Paiwan outfit...she use to work in sileng...sileng...a place where I passed not so long time ago...they have a wild hotspring there in taipei...very interesting girl...
On a quick visit to Orchid Island...
Im on a quick visit to orchid island...it is interesting...many things reminds me of green island. But here they have neither hotspring nor 7-11/family mart. By some way, i feel like in sweden during summer...maybe due to the temperature and humidity, its around 20-25 degrees....
But first...train was taken from taipei...
I love the east coast...
It taidong it was raining...
And an interesting taxi driver drove to one of the only burger bars in town...
I had not only the biggest burger but also peanut butter fries...
It was pretty big...I had it last time i was here also...
"an awesome flavor of taitung"...it has an american owner...
Next stop was the airport...many surfers were here...
But most fligths to orchid island were cancelled...actually all so far...
Here is check-in...
They also ahd a museum at the airport...
And some souvenir shop...
And even taidong was decorated witht he orchid island boats...
They didnt checl much at the airport...liquids etc were ok to bring...
I used my ARC...instead of apssport...
This plane is heading to taipei...
And this to orchid island...
19 people can go per plane...and 6 depatrures were plannes originally today...
Taidong form air...
And here it is...orchid island...
And this is small orchid island...
By some reason, no one goes there...
Here is a place for nukelar waste from taiwan...
...someone has to take the shit...
Most people here are aboriginals...
We got a map...and the chance to rent a scooter...
it was ok...the island only has 1 gas sation...and no 7-11...nor hotsprings...
But alot of pigs, goats and cats running around...
I wonder how it is in typhoon season here...
This boat was also common everywhere...
I was told that pictures cannot e takes eerywhere..but when i was here...not one rejected me...
One of all the goats...
And also no helmets...
after a while, neither i was wearing helmet...
This pattern is common everywhere...
even on the gas staion...
also the stores has alot of jars without expire date...
Omg...Yushan vodka...thtats cool...
Some shop owner is buying beer...
Its also famous for the flying fish...but in the northern part of the island the seasons hasnt started yet...its 35km around the island...
They had a few specialities...
Seaweed etc...
And peanuts...
not sure...since it wasnt tourist seasons not that many places were open...
This BarBQ was open...but were selling sausage and chicken skin...not my favorite...
Many houses were only for "resting"...thus not that wind protecting...
They also ahd some churches..since many aboriginals are christian...
At the village where I stayed many houses looked likethis...pretty modern...
