A quick visit to Nankan

I paid a quick visit to Nankan in northen Taoyuan in Taiwan, recently...
Many taiwanee flags everwhere...since the national holiday was not soo long time ago...
Omg, a peice of pavement without scooters parked... :P
But hens running around...
I had an asian beer from one of the vietnamese stores...
I also passedby the local brewery...I tried to promote them in taipei...however, their owner thniks that they are not ready to enter taipei yet...maybe a clever choice, not to enter yet...
Mr Serna joined up and helped to taste the different kinds...
We had some half hour interview with the owner...
Later we headed to Banqiao (first we planned to go to taipei 101, starbucks, but it was pretty hard to get through on the phone)...
Mr Serna never joined to the Asia49 rooftop before...
Omg...an area for helicopters to land...
I showed my Kavalan manspurs to Mr Serna...
Selfie time...
We stayed until the sunset...
And then headed to Le ble dor...also in banqiao...
...many awards...
Omg...swedish flag on the meal...
I also got to see a barking goat or something on pic...I ususally see them dead...
Later on I headed to Pingdong in the south of taiwan...
...and inspected some art...
Acting DJ in the backseat of a car...
And joined some party up in the mountains...with some aboriginals...I also brought some le ble dor beer...
I saw my friends new tattoo IRL...
We also had some BBQ...
and alot of BAR beer...

A visit to LiYun Beer bar

I paid a visit to a new beer bar recently
It was in the central parts of taipei
An old quote was at the entrance
They offered many kind of beers...but had 4 of their own...which were from the Xian brewery in Hsinchu...which the taste could tell...
Beer one...LiYun Lager
I also tried some beef which tated almost like Swedish Dillkött
Beer two was LoiYun Pale Ale
And the third one was the last one...Sambar...IPA...pretty bitter...they were sold out of the fourth beer...
Their menu board was pretty empty...little texst on alot of surface...interesting design...
They had some wierd logos...

PIzza Rock Yonghe

I went to Pizza Rock today
They have a Yonghe branch, but originates from Taizhong
Omg, they offer local beer
They have many kinds of pizza, with 2 sizes
I had the 2 local beer they offered
Both were very bitter
And a hawaii with extra cheese, but it didnt taste any special, a little bit like the other restaurant in taiwan
I manage to fit the price almost equaly divided by 220nt, the staff commented that it was special

A trip to yilan in may

I went to yilan recently
Checked the discriminative parking lots in banqiao, since taiwanese parking quards are the ones who have the world authority to decide your gender, not you!
typical yilan sight
and some random road
suddenly this house appeard, near the kavalan distillery
They are open until 1800
and they need staff
and they hace some store in the house
pretty commercial
5 standard kind and 3 seasonal
At the bar they had a black board with the beers only ale and porter
2 sized, large and small, if u buy small u get discount, if you buy large, you dont, strange logic
And some non algoholic alternative
"Beer its whats for dinner"
first one, some white ale, it was the best one
then some other ales
some fuzzball game at the corner
and families comming here to try
some decoration and the brewery in the room nearby
and they also have their own glasses etc
just like at barhi in beitou they show the brewing process
and some barrels
they also offer some pork
It was saturday afternoon, and the place was half full
Third round I tried the rest, mostly porter
In general their beer was very bitter
Some ppl enjoying outdoor activites
going strong, the white ale was the best so far
the staff were nice, and were suprised that I paid with 200 notes
Some random indoor cleaning of the outer part of a BBQ machine
the last porters on the tray
some random foreigners, some staff were introducing the beers to them, not sure about their discrimination algorithm
The foreingers left some dark beer
And then got some guiding in the brewery, not sure how to sign up for that tour
They had some souveir shop as well
All of their kind of beer, including non alcoholic
Yilan evning view
Sun setting at the south west
and some brewing chart
Not sure what this meaing "beware of beer stealing ninjas"
this road looks like taidong, both are on the east coast
typical tai building
more sunset viet from yilan
cloudy sky, yilan is called "the rainy city"
I Thin the second highest nountain of taiwan is in yilan county

More urban pic
and a fake 7-11
this place is "famous"
some chicken BBQ
golden rooster, just like me
"no smoking area, just near the smelly and smoling BBQ, strange
another tai house
its not ok with tobacco fumes, but coal fumes are ok
love BBQ

Each customer had 1 chicken
and an empty souvenir shop, i had to buy some cheap things, like pineapple
yilan has many bridges due to the rainy and wet area
many people waiting to get a seat at this "famous place"
my pineapple
and some philippino mango
my "haomapai" (number card"
And some local food
The yilan trip ended at this restaurant
many people here
and more hens, like a european easter image
they had ipads to manage their table bookings
some lotus dish, rather slimy
and rice
and some other "seasonal" vegetable
and the main dish, the chicken
including feet and head, taiwan style
with gloves to tear it apart
some guy at each tables seems to be asigned the tearing job
A ripped chicken
night in yilan, east coast alert, no helmets, atleast not on kids
and some other "famous store"
some bakery
it was crowded in here
probablybecasue it was so good,,,,ehh i mean "famous"
peach butter bread
and some girl who might have been to club atom in tokyo
scooter and scooters, but not as many as in taipei
omg they "yue tai" had traditional characters, thats rare
And the toilet had plants, welcome to yilan
The day was ended at ximen, with some mango drink

A quick visit to Jollys Brewery+ Restaurant - TPE main station

Last night I paid a quick visist to Jollys near taipei main station...
It was a rather small entrance...
But is the same branch as the Jolly near Nanjing east road (they also have a bransh in neihu)...
The beer here is brewed in Zhonghe in southern Taipei...
They have a drinking competition once per month...this month its the 16th...
Omg..they invested in their own porch...
Still 6 kind of beers...
The "special brew" was American Dark wheat Ale...
They tend to change once in a while...
Omg...brewing tabloids on the wall...
The taste was a little like the Barley beer from "le blé d´or"...
Some bread was also given for free...
Not sure why, but they used malt boxes as wall paper...
They had more than 1 room in here..and some big screen to show sports on...
And their own coaster...
Open at lunch and until 24 everyday...

A tvisit to a local Beer bar

I paid a quick visit to a Beerbar in Zhonghe last night...
I thought their beer was from Kaohsiung...but it seems like its not...
The have some kind of open bar environment...
With many kinds of beer...
Looks pretty much the same as last time I was here...then the beer tasted very bad...(atleat the local brew)...
This it thebrewery in Taizhong...
Not sure who ordered this one...but the staff gave it to us...
And some skewers...
They were donating some stuff to the gods...(after all itss ghost month)...
Omg...Joel got a new business card (he joined me here)...
He went all in on Taiwan beers Weissbeer...
Some locals also enjoying the outside tables...
They also offer baseball on TV here...
Omg...Joel kept on bringing beers...
Omg...what is this...some police suddenly showed up...
And started to argue with the boss...
Not sure about what...but in this korrupted country, many peopl backstab each other...
They did some notes...
Me and Joel kept doing magic tricks to people who ere passing by...
The police were not interested in our magic skills...
My new trick is merging 2 100NTs to 1 200NT...
After a while the police left, and the boss asked us to sit inside...
We got new friends inside...
This guy was an owner of 2 7-11 stores...we were told...
Omg...barely any weissbeer left...
And the tables were all gone when we left...
Next stop: Ximen...but i couldnt visist Cosby this time...
This place made some micro pizzas...for 280nt...
It felt wierd sitting here...
...Just some 3-4 meters from cosby and cannot eat their burgers...
Omg...there is Billie...maybe she owns Cosby...atleast whe works there every day...she left the store after some hour...
And after some while I got my pizza...a small hawaii...
I compensated the experience by having a smootie...as usual at g2 paradise

Basial Craft Beer bar visit

Seems like some abiriginal in Hualien started to brew beer...
But they only sell it in Banqiao...
...not sure why...
Omg...they even har "lady 1 free"...what that means?!...
MAny barrels on the wall...
But only 1 kind of beer...
Baisial...might be some aboriginal name...as well as the logo...
however they had 3 sized of glasses...
The business card of the owner...
They didnt have any fixed tap...thay just had the barrel on the desk...
"Beer still Live"...whatever that means...
And some traces on the wall, about that one could watch the worldcup here some month ago...
They also had something called "butter beer"...seems like sweet milk with beer....
The minimum charge was 200nt...
600nt charge if u bring your own food...

A trip to Jiaoxi

A new day in Scooter world...
Convenience first, environment last...
Omg...a parkinglot for pregnant women...
And a parking lot for people with high heels...so funny...usualy people who are handicapped have their own parking lot...seems like taiwan qualify women to this :S
I wish it could be more equal one day...and parking lots for guys will exist...
So funny...
Even id it was only 10-12 of them...
Omg..french croissant at 7-11...
Usually the toilets are naimed Toto, but this one was nemed Alex...
In Jiaoxi a visit to Yilan Beerbar was paid...
Its the 3rd of 4th time im here...
They only had 3 flavours this time...
But still free hotspring...
Which most people come here for...
Its more like an outside bar than a restaurant...
With a big poster...
Minimum charge 100nt...
And in nights they have a dancefloor here...
"Yilan Maitian" in chinese...
More people using the free hotspring...
and some "hotspring fish"...
And nice sound system...
They ahve both Wheat and Barley beer...
And some take away barrels...
I also had some french fries (what did johan eat today)...
Even from the street they promoted...
Nex tstop was a Houdongkeng Waterfall...
Due to rain it was not super many people there...
They had some ditch for water tansportation...
And some small waterfall at the entrance...
And then some bigger one...
And even huger uphill...
If one dared to take this slippery stair...
Some small creek...
And locals swimming...
Pretty steep...they better watch their step...
Luckily it was only a 5 minutes walk from the road...
this place must be on www.taiwanswaterfalls.com...
Omg...I held on tight when walking down here...

Later on the scooter was heading north...of jiaoxi...Omg..many new houses...
And later on this place...
Many people wanted to take pice in here...
On anything...
Omg...a turish waterpipe...
And free coffee machine....
On a telephone booth...
Omg...a german sticker...on a car,..as a decoration...
Wellcome to Jiaoxi...Taipei is some 5km on the other side of these mountains...
I also passed by this famous place...atleast for me...everytie i go around taiwan i see this "rotary and lion"-watch...
I ended the stay by do some geocache search...on Toucheng...

An Ericsson visit, Beerbar visit and BurgerBar visit

I went to Far eastern hospital station today...
I never been here before...
...I was meeting some Ericsson people...
We went to a vietnamese store...
Not sure about the difference between vietnamese and taiwanese food...when I was in veitnam i remember eating oysters with wasabi...
Ericsson is expanding alot nowadays...
Buidling these stations...
I later on went to Barhi in Beitou with the guys...they will only stay in Taiwan for a short while and wanted a full experience...
They have many brands here as usual...
My friends thought it was awesome...they recently went to Yilan, and the tai-people there gave them "taiwan beer", when they asked for Yilan beer...so imcompetent...
The wall with autographs were even more painted now than before...
They also had some food...
A new burgerbar is in town...
So I later on I went to taipei 101...for that burger bar...
They had bikes in the ceiling...
And a super big fan...
And Steves beer and kopparbergs...
My burger was ok...
But still expensive compare to Cosbys...
And it was "free refill" of soft drinks...but the staff never watched the tables...so I had to walkin the kitchen myself...which they didnt like...contradictional...
I ended the night in ximen...
With another smoothie...
I aso saw a guy with a propeller on his helmet...so cute...
 Omg...a fjällräven bag again...

A day at northeastern Taiwan

I met Karate kid and Captain Haddock yesterday...
Dressed for success as usual...
We planned to see some water fall in the north east of taiwan...
Omg...Puyuma train is the fast one...but it doesnt stay at that many stataions...
Its hard to find the right train...some random police helped us out...
Then we went for beer...
Alfred had his tourist bag with him...
Omg...a fjällräven on the platform...
They are more often promoting taiwan destinations now on the trains...
First stop was Shifen...for some waterfall and night market inspectations... (and I took the karate kid role)...
Its pretty chaotic on the rail...
Train arrives...feels like in india...very crowded...losses are expected...
"JS"...thats me!...
This place is famous for the flying lantern, I bought one here last time i visited...
Itw a big industry...
People writing wishes...and taking pics...
Strange but funny...when the train comes everyone moves...then they get back on the rail again...
Even the pavement decoration have flying lanterns...
We went on a path fo see the waterfall..but it as very crappy, since the locals want to earn money...they more or less blocked the view...
...so that people, after walking 1-2km had to pay to see tha waterfall...
...taiwan turns touristic....
We went on some bridge back...
This is tha waterfall on a "nice day"...
Since im with the swedes, they have a different way of thinking aobut spending money...a "cheap" taxi took us 700m for 150nt...
But we still had to walk 500m since the driver wanted to save time...
Taxi drivers here act like in vietnam och main land china...
Back to the night market...
The train was pretty full back to Ruifang...where we started...
But we squeezed...since it leaves like once or twice per hour...
Once down at ruifang we took andother bus up to another village...
With nice view...
Its near Teapot mountian, which i wanted to climb for a long time...
We also had some coffee there...boosting my caffein level...
More picture taking...
Kodak moment...
It was an inferno of taxi cars driving up and down and people running back and forth...
This is the old main street...
It reminds me of italy here...
...and this town was used as model for the best anime movie ever..."spirited away" (based on imdb ranking i think)...
Many slized ice stands...
And some peanut in dark sugar cubes...
And other things you didnt knew you needed...
Anothe coffee store...
The guys wanted stinky tofu...
Every now and then one could see the view...
Funny soap store...
Slow spring roll stand...
This guy didnt want to recommend any of his products...or maybe its my chinese that sux when it comes to the word "recommend" (Tuidian)...
Asian style red balls...
My friends wanted some beer...
We got this balcony...it seemed like a coffee store...
But the view was nice...
Omg...halloween decoration...
And keelung island...the island i spent 1 day trying to get to...without result :S
The waiter spilled half our beer on the table....
...but greedy resturant owner, gave us the rest of it in glasses, pretending that nothing happened...and later on charged us full price...the consequence of tourist industry...
Alfred was enjoying his snus...(tobacco), which he brought from sweden...
Pretty interesting.....he use to buy it online in taiwan to save money...
The rest of the team also tried...
Keelung by night...
And fishing boats with strong lights to attract squid or something...
More beer...
And Monopoly deal...
Alfreds favorite game...
It was a pretty fun game...
Easy to play...
And based on taiwanese sites...
The owner didnt want to be on picture...maybe since he charged us over price and cheated us...
They had funny spelling on the places...
I might buy one of these games...
We continued on the small path through juifen...
Many people taking pics...
They even had this "selfie stick"...seems to be the new thing...
We tried to catch a cab..but it was hard.. .
After some negotiation we found some guy, he had nice music in the cab...
Then we went back to taipei...
Many people to mingle with...
Omg...the Q-square elevators had their own life...
The "le blé d´or" had hawaii theme again...
Pretty expensve,...1 beer and 1 pizza was more expensive as an "all you can eat and drink" price...
They als told us that we cant play monopoly there...strange...
Thats ok...we didnt understand chinese for a while...
It use to be my favorite beer after all...

Jiayi marathon and some scenic sights in middle west taiwan

On a journey at the middle west of taiwan...
This place was told to be "Famous"...
Some guy dressed like a chinese doll...
And inthe building they had reconstructed some old street for 500 million taiwan dollar...
It was called "Taiwan Times Village"...
Omg, penghu cake...
People were taking pictures everywhere...
Old Budweiser...must have been before the alcohol monopoly...
And some performance...
Omg, so many people...
An old transtaion...
And super heroes...
And Märklin...thats cool...
Many old objects...
And medicine to get bigger boobs...
And how a hooker house use to look like...
Difference girls with ranking and outfits...
"Do It Youself" machine...
More stores...they better sell alot, to cover for the 500 million NTD...
An old wagon to collect shit...used in China and Taiwan...
And alot of aboriginal stuff...
And local coffee from Nantou...
An ATM machine...so that people can spend more...
And more aboriginal stuff...this one from Orchid Island...
And information about the tribes..
More photo shooting...
After this some geocache hunt started...
At some nice garden...
Next one...the position was not 100% correct...
But found it...
This street reminded me of when I lived in the USA...
Omg, interesting tree...
A bunker...
Where the next chache was found...
Next one was in a park...
Interesting things...but no travel bug...
But strange paintings...
The ride continues...this place had just like Keelung and Hollywood, some sign on the hill with the name of the town...
Wellcome to Taiwan...a nazi logo...with "superior" on it...the political symbol has no meaning...
And in Doului, somce store with gay flag...
Next stop...a local burger bar...
So many different kinds of burgers...
And nice interior design...
We got brownies...as snax while waiting for the burger...
I had their largest one...
They also had meatballs and mashed potatoe...
Next stop...some sugar plant...
Next cache...was magnetic...
It was small and cointained just a list...
After that, near Jiayi...andother cache...
It was hidden in a pipe...
The tour continued south...
To Tainan, and a local beer bar...
5-6 different kinds...
"fest beer" with extra alcohol...like in the october fest...
And Beer Parwn...
And that classic christmas decration...
It was made in Tainan...
I wonder if they had a german owner...
all the 5 kinds of beer...
Sweet and sour sauce...
And beer prawn...
Some malt...
"German Beer Brew inTaiwan"..."Des Beer Restaurant"...
Some cache hunting, bur found drugs...
And also a visit to the tropic of cancer...

The day after I started the day with a marathon in Jiayi...it was ok...we ran around a lake...2 laps...it was surprisingly easy, I havnt ran a marathon since 2012...but could still keep a good phase...maybe my recent mountain climbing events was a good preparation....
Then heading back to taipei...seeing many bikes on road 1...
Not sure why...maybe some group race...more than 500 people...or something...
On the way back, more caches were found...
At some temple...
Interesting gas station on road 3...
I ended the day as cosbys at ximen in Taipei...
And picked a last cache...

Mudrun

I went to a mud run yesterday...and some beer bars...
The race was in the middle of taiwan...so we took the bus from taipei main station...
Many people were there...
We got some free things...like a scarf...it reminded me of the scarf I got from ABB when I did a company visit there some years ago...not sure about this one..the difference between "scarf" and "scarf" and how the first "scarf" was designed...
My friend recommended Catch 22, its s good reflection about some cultures, like the taiwanese one, once in a while...
Many people were sleeping on the bus...but we had a nice chat...
Well at the race area we had to walk to some hill...
Some international company "merrell" were you hosting...
We had some tattoos that we needed to paste...i had some problems with mine...
Oskar was prepared for the mudrun...
I made some "ones" by myself...
It was interesting, they had some numbers "0-800" "800-1200" etc, but only for decoration...people were sorted by distance in the race...
Oskar had a lunch voucher, i did not get one...but they said I could take the food anyway...
Nice view of the city...
And many freebees...
No trash cans...
People were getting new tattoos...as well...
It was a big city...
And some common warm up...
Just like Goteborgsvarvet in Gothenburg...
And many hills around the city...
Now the race was starting...
After some hour it was over...covered in mud...
More freebees...
It was hard to get clean...but we felt clean enought to pay a visit to the city...
Just had to finish the lunch box, consisting of some interesting bread...
Oskar was streching...
Here in the mud, people were suppose to clean themselves up after the race...
We asked some random people for a burgerbar...
And headed downtown...oskar fell asleep...
Or almost...
Omg, a flajjraven bag...mopre and more people are using these nowadays...
In this city in the middle of taiwan, one can use the bus card from any other city in taiwan, thats pretty conveinient...
We were recommended this burger bar..
Atleast it was central...
And famous...Oskar was not impressed...
The menu was all in chinese...
I met a friend who was christian, so interesting...
I ordered the biggest burger they had...
It 4 meat patties...
Oskar had some pineapple burger...
But the meat patties were kind of crappy, we both agreed upon...
Next stop a beer bar...
Omg, a hocker house...
This was the beer bar of the day..."Deluxe brewhouse"...
It looked the same sine I was here last time...
They "amerian eagle" logo...
I started with a weissbeer...
They charged us 250nt, ans claimed it was "salsa night"...so we had to pay extra...so useless, the onkly difference from other nights was that they had salsa music in the background...
And that some local people were dresseup up...
Some guy looked like Ironman...
And some people were dancing...
I had some barley beer later on...
 And got some chichen nuggets...
Oskar was headingfor a girl looking lake laura croft...
 Hmm...slowly approaching...
 And makeing contact...
They seemed nice...
Even the guy at the cachier was ok, but he told us different things than the waitress about the price...travelling in asia for some years u know all their tricks...
Anyway, I refused to accept anything else than the offer they first told me...
I also passed by Mcdonalds for a Mcflurry...after the beer bar...
Taixhong train station...
Late night in Taizhong...heading back to taipei...

Tuesday evening...

I spent some time with my friends on tuesday night...
At a taiwanese restaurant...
This one...i have been here many times before...
My friend brought his friends own beer...i think its similar to deluxe beer...
It was very good...
We also had some taiwanese food...
And of course sweet andsour sauce...with fish...
Some random guy measuring the restaurant...interesting...
And some taiwanese beer 18 days...
And Mine...dark beer...
Some random girls promoting something...not sure what...
So at the end we had many kinds fo beer...at our table...
Next stop Yilan beer...
Many people were here...
Barley beer...or "damai" as it is called in chinese...
And chese sticks...
And chicken wings...I was about to go for a run...but plans changed...2013 continues...

Attempt to beer safari in Taipei...

Starting of with le ble d´or

Suffer from the second slowest elevators in taiwan...again...

No seats at the bar, but we quickly became best friends with the staff, and then suddenly we got some seats...

Many people were here on this thursday evening...

Honey beer...not as good as it could have been, hmm, maybe its because I did not eat anything with it...

They had a gagnamstyle video when they sang "le ble d´or"...it was fun...
Continuing east....to some night market...
We ended up at McDonalds...
And then to carrefour...900nt for 6 beers...they better be good...
Some baby mugs with the absolute vodka...they are surely looking for new customers....
Carrefours logo...
And finaly I bought a new chain for my bike...not my bike wont make soo much noise anymore...
I ended they day by buying fruit...to compensate for all the beer and hamburger...omg, my new healthy lifestyle...

A new local beer store in Taipei...

I found another place to get local beer...
This one is a store...and a bar...where they sell many kind of beer, but also wine and whisky...
Some beer is from Taizhong...
They have alot of belgian beer...
www.mybeer.com.tw...some address for more info...

Beer safari in Taoyuan

I went on my second beer safari in taiwan yeserday...

Starting off at this place in Linkou, Taoyuan (in Taipei new city)...

They served their beer in these cans... They had algea, dark, light and strawberry beer...their light beer was not that good...

And we got snacks...

They served the dark beer later than the other ones...not sure why...

If you check in on facebook, you also get free chicken wings...they were far more strict on checking this, than at Barhi in Beitou...it was confusing...

Taoyuan is famous for the maffia...I saw a maffia car outside this beer house...

The next stop was at this beer house...

They had live band that were pretty good...

The menu was in chinese...

They have new performers every day of the week...

Their beer glasses were pretty funny...

They had 2 kinds...one grape flavour and one draft beer...

And some carlsberg euipment....

Today tey also had some dark beer, I got a sample, but it was not that good...

They store the beer in these barrels, I was told that one can visit their factory in taoyuan...Maybe i will do that some time...

The stage was at one side of the room, but the furnitures were places in all directions making if hard for the customers to see the show...

I orderd this bread with sweet and sour sauce...

The room looked like a church...

We checked in at this place, and were suppose to get ome snacks, but the service was pretty slow....

This girl was filming the show...

They had a minimum charge of 350nt per person...its kind of high...
I later on found a "style binglang" place...
Omg, so stylish...

Beer safari in Taizhong

Taiwan has many cities...today im visiting Taizhong...almost 3 million people live there...even if its just 150-200km from taipei, the cutlre is totaly different regarding consumer behaviour...I also think the maffia is stronger here...

From taipei I took train...and found a paper plane compeitoin at Taipei main station...

I also had some korean food there...

Before taking of...to Taizhong...

In taipei main station they sell alot of tourist things...as well as alot of snacks from all over taiwan and near by countries like japan and korea...

It took some hour by train to get to taizhong...

From the train station it is about 3-4km to the first beer bar (walking distance)...however bus number 5 takes you there too...

I got some traffic card that I could use in the bus...

The first visit was paid at Deluxe Brewhouse...

It was pretty big and reminder me of Beerworks in Jhubei...

They had 3 different kinds of beer plus many flavours...and some 50% off, on the second glass offer...

Weissbeer, pilsner and some dark draft...

They had service charge, and as usual, when they have service charge the service is a little worse...

They also used the german theme....with many flags...

Second round was Weissbeer vs Strawberry beer

They have some factory in Tucheng, taipei it said, but i saw alot of brewing equipment in the resturant too...

They even had their own toothpick paper...

Pretty big...

And coffee grains in the toilet...i guess for people to smoke here, even if it is illegal...maybe a requirement from the maffia...

Many couches were blue and white...like the colours of Gothenburgs football team IFK Göteborg...

The trip continued2km north east...to the next destination...

We passed many resturants (famous ones)...it was about 2km to the next brewery...

Wow, this pace if famous from Lonely planet...(A random resturant in taizhong downtown)...

Interesting architecture...the elevators are seen as two lights going up and down on the dark wall of the building...

Omg, I use to have a friend in the swedish marines called Bellini...maybe his family owns this pasta place...

Here is the next place...(a little dark)...

Their toilet door was fun...you locked it in an old fashined way...

They had 4 kind beer, and since they ahd anniversary, 500ml beer were only 100nt...

else this are the original prices...

They had many pictures from germany as well...

And just as the other place, this showed baseball...

We got the beer in plastic glasses...the green on is some algea beer...

these are  dark beer, weissbeer, and the one in the middle is just a mix of the dark and light one...(so in theory they had 3 kinds of beer)

This was the name...

I bought a pizza...the other place "deluxe" also offered hamburger...but i didnt try it...

The green one left...

I took it with me for the third brewery...

Taizhong nights...

RuiDeBao...is the third place name...

A little bit smaller that the two first....

Also with german inspiration...

And some instruction about how they brew...just like the Barshi place in Beitou has...

Omg, they serve "dolphin" or something...or many just a wierd translation...

They had 2 types of beer here...one weisbeer and one with more hops...

The dark one tasted like the beer i make...thus a very standard flavour...

All places i visited offers the plastic cylinger tap...

It is easier when you are many people...to buy that one...
Reichburg is the name of this resturant...

German sausages....and sauer kraut...

And some kebab without kebab sauce...

Seems like they got some award...

I also got a voucher...on which I could collect stamps...
The last train back to taipei leaves around 21...the last High speed rail train as 23 something...
And the last busleaves at 23.30 and 23.40...
So bus was the best choice...
The bus leaves nearby the Taizhong train station...
A maffia guy or something...he let me take a picture of his face...he had tatoes all over it...
The bus had toilets...so i could save a beer for that...no need to waste it...
Omg..."Please dont hand on your leg"..."dont sit for children below 145 cm"...its always interesting to travel in taiwan...i wonder what they really mean....
Taipei was raining...super slippery with my flipflops...since the pavements have very slippery stones...and my flipflops is made of a weird material...

Taipei hangout...on a saturday night...

I went to many places yesterday night...

Transporting by scooter...ina dense city...

I fear i might get lung cancer, sharing city with millions of otherscooter drivers...

The first destination was a burger bar near taipei 101...

I see that my friend Joel has been here selling swwedish stuff...

Both kopparbergs and Rekorderlig Cider...

They did not have any big burgers at this place...

I had a rekorderilig (it was as expensive as the burger)...

And a pineapple burger...

There was a sign on Taipei 101 say ing something about the lantern festival that is right now...

The next stop was El Cielo near S.Y.S memorial hall...

I found many nice all you can eat resturants near by there...

At El Cielo I met Robin who has a farewell party...

I met many swedes that I havnt met for a long itme there...

I use to hang out with Kristoffer...though...

I had a chocolate drink...it was ok...

We also got some snax if we bought drinks for more than 1000nt...

After this place a visit to Barhi was made again...

Its the Yilan beer bar in Beitou that also has pilsner...

Vincent the owner is a very nice guy...

They didnt have the pilsner yesterday, so I had a liter of wheat beer...

And if you "check in" on facebook at this place u get free french fries...

I also had a hawaii pizza, but it more looked like a pie...

I also passed by shilin night market where they had many lanterns...

And finally I dropped by Ximen, where I took an "all you can drink" offer for 500nt...but the drinks were not that good...

The bars here are very tight...and each of them plays their own music...on this pic  speakers are shown (one to the left and one to the right) playing different music...
I planned to "do the list"...but the drinks were not that good...so I skipped some drinks...
Later on I went to carrefour to buy some things to do milkshake...february 2013 continues...

A visit to Hsinchu

I went to hsinchu yesterday...

Had a meeting with some old friends...

At a restaurant in Hsinchu downtown...

Its one of these "try to imitate fancy italian/french dishes and service" resturant that is far to expensive...

I had pasta, my friends ordered some more brunch style food..

I had an egg in my food...

We later on went to the beerworks (beer place), that I never been to (there are 4-5 pf them in hsinchu, that sells hsinchu made beer)...

It was a little bit similar to the other beerwork that i have been to...

Kai was there...

I had some burgers...since i started to run regurlary recently, i feel that I need to eat alot...just like in the old days...

We went up at 10, to get to some wild hotsprings...(thats what they are calles here, hotsprings that u dont need to pay for)...
Anders drove the car...

We had GPS, but did barely need it...

Wow..."Dabajianshan"...the place i wanna go to almost "the most" right now in taiwan...

A far up 7-11...a taiwanese way to recognize civilization...

Aboriginal pattern...so nice...

And a nice church, maybe not "top 10" but atleast "top 100" in taiwan...

There are many nice houses far up in the taiwanese moutains roads...

We also used a map that I downloaded, to get the directions of this "wild hotspring"...

It was a small road...

And a bad road, with many warning signs...

We were told to "Follow the main road" to get ther...but many times the road split into two...and both looked like "tha main road":..
But after a while the descriptin matched with reality...and we chosed to walk the last bit...

Steep down towards a river...

very steep...

And the road was not suitable for "normal city cars"...

Some big stones were found near the river bank...

A guy told us how to find the hotspring...

Wow...a country road car...perfect to find nice hotsprings in taiwan...

Wow...over there we found some people...

Someone had put up some tents...

And used concrete to make some pools...

Anders found a cave...

I found a bigger one...

Bubbles in the water...

It was around 35-28 degrees in the first pool...

There was some pipes that enabled fresh river water to enter...

3or 4 pools, where 1 was outside the "tent" area...

Ander also took a swim in the cold river...

He also took some cold water to make the hotspring more fresh...

Many bubbles...

Bojun went for a walk down hill...

This was really in a djungle...

Most hotsprings are near the river bank in this area...

Far up there, and further some 20-40km, is dabajian shan...

Anders took many pictures....

Then, after some hour, we went back to the car...

Wow...some waterfall at the other side of the valley...

And some broad river...in Hsinchu that looked like a river in yilan...

We later on went to Neiwan...

I wanted to eat wild boar meat...

YEp, wild boar "or mountain pig" as its called in chinese...

They are not as big as in sweden...

I also found amilk store, from Ruishui, which i visited last week at the east coast...

They had a museum for "interesting things"...

I bought an icecream asn some liter of milk...

And went to eat some noodles...

As usual I was watcomng the maps on the wall for a long while...looking for interesting places...

Wow, nice mountains that I want to climb...

And a huge toad...

I thought this was a muffin, but it turned out to be some slime thing...

They had alot of fire crackers left since chinese new year...

Later on i took the bus to Taipei. and found a guy with both Fjällräven bag and ikea bag...thats impressive...

I went to a resturant in ximen later on...to another "italian/french" wannabee resturant...
And had pasta...

And milk tea...
Later on I passed by the red house district for a kiwi tea...but it was more like an acid drink...february 2013 continues...

In taidong

The following night was spent at Johnnys house...in taidong...

He had Ikea things in the room...

And he insisted of driving the car...omg...

And we went downtown...to some stores...

And played at an arcade...

The games ended pretty soon...

This fighting game was fun...

Wow...a famous place...it must b good...(tai logic)...

A tree house in central taidong...

And some art...

This house is super central...I was told that the restaurant is not that good...

"An introduction to logic..."

Nice interior design in the house...

This is interesting, the closest Mcdonalds is to the right, but they promote a more remote one...for some reason...

We also headed a bit up on the hill that we skipped last time...

Just some temples...

And old people playing karaoke...

We continued to eat lunch...and parked tha car near this nice house...

Sams burger, the resturant thats open in theory 11-22 but in reality at lunch, and after 17-18...

Some blackboard paintings...

"sams f**kin hungry now"...seems bug...i will have that...

It was pretty big..

Later on we went to johnnys again and ate some local fruit...(the one i bought last time)...

Its a very local fruit...

There after we went to a hot spring...

We could cook our eggs there...

It was not that big...and not that structures in the sense of temperatures...(200nt)...

Rain was approaching, so the trip continued north...

A police controling the traffic lights...

Omg, a bike kit at 7-11 so professional...

Road 9 seems nicer thatn road 11 on the east coast...both has plenty of 7-11 stores...

I saw some fireworks later on that night...

Ath this elementary school, where I slept...

They had english translations of almost everything there...

In guanxi they hace a famous bike way...

Omg, road 20, I was very close to climg jiaming moutain, to go to jiaming lake...but ppl said it might be hard, due to the weather...(i planned to do it over the day, since I know some people who has done that)...

It goes cross the island, to road 3 where I went yesterday...

I went a while on road 20...and passed a Bunun museum...to bad that it was closed...

I wanna learn more about aboriginal culture...

This is as far as it gets...almost...

There were many statues like this, here at the road 9 valley...

A sign saying that the raod is closed after some 500k or something...

These "hand in hand" paintingis are very common in taiwan, it seems to be a symbol of aboriginals (as well as the diamond shaped pattern)...

Here goes road 20, I hope to be back soon, and climb some moutains here...

Most roads in the mountains follows a river...

Some aboriginal photos...

More paintings...

Bad weather...

I had breakfast in Yuli...some toast...

And "brownish" milk...

It was said to be 100%...

Omg...seeing this at home, one would think it was something bad...here in asia this (most often inverted) symbol has a positive meaning...

A new railroad is beeing built...

Omg..."warning for birds" thats rare...I never seen that at home...

I also passed by a coffee plantage...

A japanese guy cane here some centory ago and made these plantages...

They had many products...

And equipment...

ALot of coffee trees...

Like this one...

With the red coffee bean...we were told that we could eat them (the visitors were guided)...

Hmm...I brought some beans home...to plant...

Some beans were brown and dry...

They also had facilities to camp...

We also got some tea and coffe wjhile there...

They had many products...

The coffee I liked...

I bought this...it was pretty expensive 1000nt for a small package...they had one for 600nt, with another bean....but i prefer arabica...and i like to support locally produced items...

Omg, the tropical of cancer...

They had many sites to visit on the east reef valley...

And the road I wanted to go on...

Next stop was Ruishui milk farm...

SImilar to the one I visited when I did my ironman in taidong 2 years ago...but this was bigger, since they sell their milk at 7-11...

I bought some pudding, ice cream and milk...

Local produced they said...but they only had 300 cows here, I doubt that this is their only faciility, since they are selling their milk at the 6000 7-11 that exists in taiwan...

They also had ostrich...

And a few cows for visitors to feed...

Many kids were here...

"land of milk, tea and ot springs"...

And places to camp...

Nice houst...looks empty but the roof is the same as home...

Aboriginal pattern...

I was taking road 193 to an aboriginal museum that was open (i was told)...

This place...

Cool pattern...

It was the Amis tribe...

I want to know more about the smaller tribes...Amis and Paiwan seems so big...

They had colourful clothes...

And nice necklace...

And totam pole...

The eat rift vally, super nice...

Sttep hills...

A meeting point for aboriginals...

Next stop was a real lake near hualien...

I seen pictures of this lake on internet but I did know it was here...

I was told it was famous, but hard to get to , sincethe east coast is kind of isolated...

Liyu lake...

Many people were renting out swan boats...

They also had some wetlands...

Some people were also fishing...

And some hotels...ofcourse...

In hualien I went to an "allyoucaneat" buffet at pizza hut...

It was lantern festival as well so there were alot of lights...

In Jiaoxi, I went to my favorite yilan beer bar...they also have a free piblic hotspring...

Yilan beer...

And the dance floor...where old people dance...

once barley and one wheat beer...
More people at the hotspring...they sit and dip ther feet into the water...
Later road 9 was taken towards taipei...it was nice, a view of yilan by night...
