A short visit to the island Waiheke

today a short visit to the island waiheke was made, since I will produce wine some day...(mainly waiting for global warming to continue).
I had to take the boat outside Auckland...
Crossing high waves...
To the famous (locally) island Waiheke...
It seems to be a pitoresque society, they even has a billboard, telling which people they did not want to come to the island...auckland is full of theifs...
We went around in this small couch...
the driver was nice...he had been to sweden...
The island has 35 wineyards...we ill visit 3 of them...one is said to be the top 2 in New Zeeland...
The landscape was similair to the one in france...it was a good place for planting some kind of grapes...
We were guided in some yards...I got the chance to ask usefull questions, but I still had one left that I didnt have time to ask...we also got to taste some of the wine...it was good...
Chardonnay is the most popular grape in New Zeeland...
As by the book of a farm, wineyard etc, there is a souvenir shop...
A classical wine maker...i want one of those...
Just like Riedl glasses that I always wanted...there ones looks like some I saw at RT-mart in Hsinchu, Taiwan...I will buy one next time I go there...it will take the wine experience to a new level...
This is how the house looked like...most houses on the island were red, due to the iron in the stones...but not this one...
This is the name of the first yard...non of the ones on this island has any export to the international arena, as I was told...

They were also selling things like handcraft...
It felt like the small villages of southerns sweden some times...
They had alo tof readings and research about this island...
And the yards were often decorated with things, like this new zeeland-ish cristmas tree..
And this cork tree...even if they dont use cork that much in new zeeland any longer...
And there was a net covering the whole plantation...from birds...
We also got oil and bread to rest our togues...
The ast wineyard wevisited was suppose to be the most famous one...however there were alot of people there...so it didntfeel that personal...
This is the owner...
And these are some awards they got...
The island was really full of wineyards...family owned...and the properties on this island were super expensive...
The island trip was fun.i got inspiration to start a wineyard on my own, just like some.years ago when i took sonme courses in the field at gothenburg university. my only hinder is the swedish frost. tomorrow i will go to shanghai. i really dislike the customs there, always (or often) problem...
