Ayo, another culture collision causing embarrasing moment
Me and a classmate were asked to host a professor who came from china, showing him the swimming pool facility at the neighbour university. Since I went there yesterday to ask for the opening hours, I knew that it was open at the time we were about to host him...
But when we came there...they said it was close...so annoying! They dont wanna lose face, so they produce an answer instead of saying that they dont know the opening hours...
My chinese guest also got irritadet on the students incapability of reaching a decition...which is very taiwanese...it is like an error in the conclusion terminal...
Later some other person called the manager who could give us a final decision saying "no".
I hence suggested to go to Boai campus where there is a smaller but free pool...
But the driver, who also is a professor from NCTU suggested another pool near by the other swimming pool...inside some junior high campus.
This place had super nice facilities, jakuzzi etc...
And they also had places for swimmers...however it was not as big as the NTHU pool, the water was very warm...almost 37 degrees...so it was probably alot of bacterias there...
And exoticly enough, they had halloween decoration. I assume is has been there for a long time.
